Education Grants

Developing those who will lead on open financial systems

Financial systems don’t change through technology alone. They change when people understand how to build, apply, and adapt it in practice. We fund universities and student-led initiatives to build the knowledge, skills and practical experience needed to work with open payments and connected financial infrastructure.

Find the Grant that Fits Your Work

Our Education Grants support work at different stages, from institutional curriculum development to student-led experimentation. Both programs are designed to build practical capability, not just theoretical knowledge.

The Future of Open Payments Open infrastructure only creates change when enough people know how to use it, build on it, and advocate for it. That is why the Interledger Foundation funds education as part of its core grantmaking offer - not just to support a pipeline of future talent, but because building capability across geographies and disciplines is how open financial systems get adopted at scale. To date, Interledger has partnerships with 10 universities across four continents, and over 1,000 students have been skilled on open payments.
